Heer Syal

The Punjabi film Heer Syal (1938) was directed by K.D. Mehra.

• M. Ismael played the famous Kaido role third time in this Calcutta based Punjabi film. His first role was in a silent film Heer Ranjha (1929) from Bombay. The second time he was seen as Kaido in the first ever Punjabi film Heer Ranjha (1932), which was made in Lahore. He also played the same role in film Heer Syal (1965).
• The film heroine, Balo (Iqbal Begum) was mother of great film heroine Sabiha Khanum.
• Baby Noor Jehan was seen as singer and actress with her two sisters, Haidar Bandi and Eidan Bai.
