The Punjabi film Ishq-e-Punjab (1935) was directed by G.R. Sethi.

The other name of this film was Mirza Sahiban.

This Bombay-based film is claimed as the first ever Punjabi film in the Indian subcontinent, but it is not true. Heer Ranjha (1932) was first Punjabi film, which was made in Lahore.

It was first Punjabi film of famous actress and singer Khrushid and hero of this film Bhai Desa was a famous folk singer in Punjab.
