The Silent film Raja Harishchandra (1913) was directed by Dhundiraj Govind Phalkay.

Raja Harishchandra was released for public viewing in Coronation theatres, Bombay on May 3, 1913.The first Indian motion picture, D G Phalkes mythological boasted of an all-male starcast. Even the female lead was played by a man since no woman was willing to be part of the cast.

This film was shown to some classified invities, in Olympia cinema hall on April 2, 1913.
