Anjuman was seen as an extra actress in Punjabi film Khoufnak in 1974. She appeared as film heroine in an Urdu film Waday ki Zanjeer in 1979. She got breakthrough from three mega hit Punjabi films Sher Khan, Chann Varyam and Sala Sahab - all these three films were released on the same day (Eidul Fitr), August 2, 1981 and celebrated diamond jubilees (more than 100 weeks) in cinemas in Lahore - which is a unique record in Pakistan's film history.
